About

About AlumniConnect

Modernizing the relationship between universities and their graduates.

Our Mission

AlumniConnect was founded on a simple observation: every university — regardless of endowment size — should be able to afford a world-class alumni engagement platform, and every alumnus should have a meaningful reason to maintain an active connection with their alma mater.

The alumni engagement market has been dominated by legacy vendors charging $15,000 to $80,000 per year for platforms that still require significant manual effort. Community colleges, small liberal arts schools, HBCUs, and regional universities — the institutions that often have the most to gain from stronger alumni connections — are priced out of the market.

We built AlumniConnect to change that equation. By combining cloud-native multi-tenant architecture, AI-powered automation, and a compliance-first design philosophy, we deliver enterprise-grade alumni engagement at a fraction of the legacy cost.

Our Design Principles

Automation First

95% of communications should run without human intervention. The operator manages by exception — the platform does the rest.

Compliance from Day One

SOC 2, GLBA, FERPA, GDPR — baked into the architecture, not retrofitted after the first security incident.

Accessibility for All

Every university should afford the platform. Every alumnus should have a free tier that delivers genuine value.

Privacy by Default

Every field defaults to the most private setting. Alumni choose what to share — never discover they overshared.

Multi-Institution Identity

One account, multiple school affiliations. An architectural moat no competitor handles cleanly.

The 20-Minute Promise

Every design decision optimizes for one thing: making the operator’s daily workflow fit in 20 minutes.

Technology Foundation

Cloud-native architecture with multi-tenant isolation at the data layer. Every record carries a tenant identifier, and all queries are scoped to the authenticated tenant.

AI-powered features including natural language search, automated event suggestions, and intelligent engagement scoring — all built on cost-optimized LLM integration.

Modern stack: React/Next.js frontend, Node.js/TypeScript API, PostgreSQL database, React Native mobile apps, with Stripe payment integration and enterprise SSO support.

Security controls include AES-256 encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access control at the API layer, MFA for operators and administrators, immutable audit trails, and session management with configurable timeouts.

Deployment targets include cost-optimized cloud providers delivering 60-70% savings versus AWS/Azure/GCP while meeting all compliance requirements.

99.5% uptime SLA with cross-zone redundancy, automated backups (RPO < 1 hour, RTO < 4 hours), and disaster recovery runbooks.
